Congratulations
- you and your loved one are about to be married.
OUTDOOR WEDDINGS:-
A large percentage
of wedding ceremonies these days are conducted "outdoors".
This means that we are at risk to the elements of nature.
When selecting the wedding venue, it is important to give consideration
to the changing weather conditions. Everyone of course wants a bright
sunny day, with no wind, not hot or cold ... just right ... well that
is your dream, but let us face reality.
In the open we need to provide a table or somewhere for you to comfortably
sign the Marriage Certificate. As part of my service, I will provide a
small portable table, together with a portable PA system so
that the responses to your vows are heard by all in attendance.
(The law states that the Marriage Certificate must be
signed by yourselves AND your witnesses, plus myself, immediately after
the formal part of the ceremony has been completed, that is vows and declarations
have been made).
If we are at the beach, under a tree, in a forest etc, what happens
if the Heavens open and the rain comes, or the wind becomes a raging gale
?
We all need to be prepared, some of your guests may require portable seating. If it rains, we
need shelter, so have available some portable marquees or large tents.
The barest minimum is a large beach umbrella for the Bride and Groom.
If the venue is at a park, then it is possible that shelter is already
available, so you need to make sure you have booked the shelter as well
when the venue is booked.
If you are having a beach wedding, it is a good idea to check the tides
in Port Phillip Bay, click on this link and enter the date and time of
your wedding:
Port Phillips Heads
-Tidal Information.
ADD to the times shown on the table, approx hours for :-
3 .05 Melbourne (Williamstown).
1.35 Mordialloc

0.30 Geelong / Rosebud
The message in this section is for you to "be aware and prepared
for weather changes".
