Your Wedding - Professional,   Caring,   Understanding

Special Links and Downloads

Congratulations - you and your loved one are about to be married.
Your service may be arranged totally by yourself, or with my assistance, or in conjunction with a Wedding Planner. I will be required by law to handle the legal part, and officiate at the ceremony itself.

If you want something extra special, then let's dare to be different !
Your wedding is your special day, and I work in with you and assist you, and will ensure your day is memorable and as perfect as you always dreamed it would be.
You can be as traditional or as simple as you want.
Tradition.... if you want ... gone ... out the window ... OR ... have it as formal as your parents did.

You might even think 'outside the square', want to be a Cinderella or a pirate, then be just that !

Your wedding ceremony may be held anywhere in Australia, on any day, at any time, perhaps in a Chapel associated with a reception venue, or at a beach, or National Park location, a favourite spot enjoyed by yourselves, in a garden, beside a lake, g
et married on the beach without shoes etc, then be natural, no shoes huh !! ... dont step on the crabs or any sharp rocks ... or... go bush... in the forests, on a mountain top, near a creek or waterfall.... the scenarios are endless ... YOU choose.

For small and personal ceremonies, please refer to the Special Venue option in the left column.

I have a lot of resources to assist you, and I am so easy to get on with, there are only a couple of legal "have to have" items, and the rest of the ceremony can be to your own design, totally secular or semi-religious.      You choose, this is YOUR day.

Call me when you are ready, our first interview is free and without any pressure or obligation...but please book early, as I would hate you to miss out because the time you want has already been allocated to someone else. When you formally book me, I will give you a folder with reference material and ceremony suggestions.

I also supply a portable wireless PA system, with CD or PDA / MP3 access, and a Rostrum (if required) at no extra charge

The Wedding Ceremony :

Your Wedding Ceremony may be totally Secular (non-religious), or semi religious with Prayers, Scripture Readings and Hymns. The choice is yours as to your overall beliefs and cultural background, and I will be more than happy to provide either service and work with you. I can assist you in the overall preparation and order of the ceremony if required.  There are many different resources and samples available. I have several samples and resources, and we can discuss these in greater detail when we meet. YOU make the selection, and YOU decide the order of service. It is YOUR day, and except where required otherwise, I will keep to the background as much as possible.

There is a Monitum or "minimum wording" (that is required by law) which is to be incorporated into the ceremony, and to solemnise the wedding, your vows and a declaration are required as a minimum.

Monitum from the Marriage Act:  (Refer LEGALS page for more information on Monitum and Vows)
These words are to be incorporated into ceremony EXACTLY as stated here, no alteration is permitted.

"My name is Bruce Bathols, I am a Civil Marriage Celebrant, and I am authorised by law to solemnise marriages according to the Marriage Act 1961.
Now (the full names of GROOM and BRIDE are stated), before you are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter.

Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life
."

This Monitum is usually said early in the Ceremony, after the introduction, but it can be said anywhere in the ceremony prior to the vows.

The rest of the ceremony is your personal choice as to:

                 Introductions,
                 Family involvement,
Traditions (eg Giving the Bride Away)
                 Music,
                 Readings,
                 Poems,
Various personal commitments - such as Rose, Sand, Cultural etc.

Vows *
                 Rings segments,

... but these also can be of a minimal nature.

*
NOTE: VOWS of a minimal nature according to the MARRIAGE ACT 1961 must be said individually by the couple. The words of these minimal vows are :-
“I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, (Groom / Bride), take thee (you), (Bride / Groom), to be my lawful wedded (wife / husband)”;
or words to that effect.
The vows are to be repeated by each of the couple separately.
Additional personalised vows of your own choice may be added after the above wording, but there can be no exception to stating the line which is highlighted.

We can discuss the specifics of these during our meetings .... or you may decide to have only some, or even not to have any of them.   As I said before, the choice is YOURS.

Your wedding day is your special and personal event,  I will assist you to make this special day perfect for you, and ensure that is goes smoothly, with professionalism, and to your total satisfaction.

Pagan Weddings:
I can perform such a ceremony with your assistance. If you can have your
Priestess, Gothi, Elder or other high entity perform all of the rituals .... cleansing the circle, laying the sacred space (altar, harrow) etc .... raising the elements, calling upon the gatekeepers and so on, and also perform the Handfasting ritual, I will be pleased to work in with you, and simply state the minimum legal sections, ie the Introduction / Monitum, Vows and Presentation.
I will require a copy of the script, so as to ensure that my ultimate responsibility for performing the actual wedding ceremony as per the Marriage Act 1961 is acknowledged.

Please contact me to arrange our obligation free first discussion.

Thankyou for reading this, and remember, if you want a traditional wedding, or a simple or standard "Secular" (non-religious) ceremony, or perhaps something different "outside the square", then I am your celebrant.

Special Venue Option
 for small services

My home is situated on five acres in a semi rural area only seven minutes from the bayside at Patterson Lakes - Bangholme (MELWAYS Map 94 C 11), and is  1 Km east from the National Water Sports Centre.
It is partly landscaped, and the gardens and overall rural outlook reflect tranquillity and peace.
It is an ideal wedding venue, and to minimise your overall costs, if your wedding party is of no more than 12 persons in total, then you may utilise our facilities for the service only in these beautiful surroundings.
Use of a change room and bathroom facilities is available for the bridal couple.
Your "reception" may then be held at a local venue such as a hotel or cafe etc.
Although I can provide Tea / Coffee and Biscuits only, I am not able to provide full catering facilities due to health and legal regulations.

Other Marriage Celebrants
looking for a venue, and wishing to conduct a  similar small Ceremony, are invited to use these facilities.

Please call or Email me for the Terms and Conditions.

The LEGAL part:
All of the legal requirements are mine to worry about, after the wedding I send the originals of the Marriage Certificate and Declarations to the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages (BDM).

Firstly, I need you to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NoIM), this can be downloaded from the link above, and I will assist you with that.

One month's clear notice must be given before you can be married.

Please also refer to the Marriage Legal details and costs, these links are also available above.
